Lunatic released their new single “Nu mai fi sărac!” (Don’t Be Poor Anymore!), a humor-filled song accompanied by an unconventional music video lasting over 8 minutes.

This latest single continues the series of ironies expressed through lyrics by the boys from Lunatic, which started in 2021 with the release of the hit song “Fericiți în România” (Happy in Romania). At that time, Lunatic made waves on TV and in the press, satirizing the well-known phrase “if Dan Barna were president… this wouldn’t have happened.”

The lyrics of the new single are a collection of truisms presented in a funny lyrical approach. Lines like “All you have to do now is not be poor anymore!” make Lunatic’s newest song a unique musical creation that brings joy.

If we knew how not to be poor, we probably would have applied the recipe ourselves. But you know how it is, the best way to learn something is to teach it to others,” jokingly stated Cătălin Constantin, the lead vocalist of Lunatic.

“Nu mai fi sărac!” is accompanied by an 8-minute satirical cinematic music video directed by Ștefan Lungu, featuring situations and dialogues in a fictional institution (but with many familiar elements that Romanians are accustomed to seeing when dealing with public offices). The main character in the video is played by one of the band’s fans, alongside its members and a few friends.

The song “Nu mai fi sărac!” will be included on the album “Omul din Stele” (The Man from the Stars), set to be released by Lunatic in the autumn of this year, with production handled by Victor Panfilov of Real Sound & Vision.

Lunatic is a pop-rock band from Bucharest founded in 2020. Among the band’s achievements are TV and radio appearances, concerts alongside bands such as Mono Jacks and Luna Amară, organizing a rock festival for up-and-coming bands, and a series of music videos featuring celebrities.
